Now I remember...
So it was always a running joke where I’d claim there were going to be 30 editions, then I’d get busy and then start slipping and in the end things would get cancelled prematurely. Well, things are slipping, but by gum we’re going to finish 30 editions this time! …just not one today. Let’s see, how does March 7 sound? Let’s try for March 7. Sounds good to me....

I’ve taken on one project too many for the time being, but there’s only 5 more editions of this joyride to go so I figure staying the course will be manageable. Oh, and having a staff (sort of) helps too.

The Excuses on Friday experiment ends in miserable failure. I realized that it gets buried by Follow Fridays on Twitter and I just can’t deal with that. Back to Monday it is, but all is not lost.

Note to self: quit skirting deadlines. Other note to self: quit leaving the paper with the good ideas on it at work. Other than that, it’s more of the same, and thank goodness we’re at 23 editions, because keeping up the energy to get to 30 is a whole heck of a lot harder than I remembered it being. From the desk of Excuses H.Q.
So there’s an inherent flaw with promising videos for Excuses. Most of my content would be best done outdoors. It might have cracked the threshold of freezing today, and it’s not looking too promising to do any better than that for some time. Perhaps a rethink of that strategy is in order. New edition comes out Jan. 3, 2011. Happy new year!

In spite of the universe’s best effort, very little seems to stop Excuses. On a related note, this is the earliest an Edition 18 has come out. With a little luck Tumblr won’t explode this week, the edition gets published on time, and I can go to bed instead of waiting up for the site to un-explode.

If you followed me on Twitter (@excuseshq) you’d know that indeed this edition was prepared on time, but this time it is well-documented and unequivocally so the fault of tumblr. This time I can blame tumblr and feel good about it.

1. More videos. I’ve got an idea that might suck less, and in spite of not having done much in that arena recently, expect more video in the not terribly distant future.
